Email for startups, private from day one

A startup’s inbox fills up with term sheets, contracts and customer data in its first month. Secria Mail puts you@yourstartup.com on Mail Plus or Pro, stores every message in your mailbox with zero-access encryption, and end-to-end encryption is on by default. Founders can start today, and Secria Business for the whole team is opening soon.

Secria Mail open on an inbox, with labels such as Travel and Team, and a train ticket open beside the list.

Why it matters early

What does a startup’s inbox hold?

More than most founders expect, and most of it arrives before anyone thinks about security.

  • Fundraising documents

Term sheets, cap tables, investor updates and data room links all travel by email, often months before a round is public.

  • Legal and hiring

Incorporation papers, contracts, offer letters and signed agreements sit in the founders’ mailboxes for years.

  • Every vendor account

Billing, cloud and banking tools all reset through an email address. An alias per vendor keeps those logins apart.

  • Your name on the domain

Mail from your own domain has to be set up correctly to arrive. Google tells everyone who sends to Gmail accounts: “Set up SPF or DKIM email authentication for your sending domains.”1

Questions about email for startups

What email should a startup use?

One on your own domain, with encryption you don’t have to set up. Your domain keeps the address yours whatever provider you use, and encryption keeps term sheets, contracts and customer data private. Secria Mail does both on Mail Plus and Pro.

Can I use my startup’s domain?

Yes. Secria Mail Plus connects up to 3 custom domains for $3.99 a month on monthly billing, and Secria Pro up to 10. Mail to your domain gets the same protection as any Secria address.

Can I have addresses like hello@ and billing@?

Yes. Create aliases on your own domain and reply from any of them. A catch-all address picks up mail to addresses you never created.

Why give every vendor its own address?

If a vendor is breached or sells its list, you know which one, and you can delete that alias without touching the rest. Mail Plus has 15 aliases and Secria Pro has unlimited.

Which DNS records does a startup need for email?

MX records so mail reaches you, and SPF, DKIM and DMARC so other providers trust what you send. Google’s sender guidelines require SPF or DKIM from everyone who sends to Gmail accounts. Secria shows the exact records to copy and checks them for you.

Is there a plan for the whole team?

Secria Business is opening soon. Join the waitlist to hear when it does. Personal plans are available today.

Can I move from Gmail or Outlook?

Yes. Secria imports MBOX files, EML files and Outlook PST files on every plan, free included. MBOX and EML files are read and encrypted in your browser before upload.
