Recover a Roblox account without email or phone
If your Roblox account never had an email or phone number, the "Forgot Password or Username?" page can't help you. Your only route is Roblox Customer Support, and you have to prove the account is yours. Roblox says plainly that without an email, a phone number or any purchase history, the account may not be recoverable at all.
Short answer: check first whether you're still logged in somewhere, because that changes everything. If you aren't, fill in the support form at roblox.com/support with your username and any proof of ownership you have, such as the first email ever used on the account or a receipt from a purchase. Never give your details to a "recovery" service or anyone who messages you offering help.
Everything below comes from Roblox Support articles as of November 3, 2026.
Can you recover a Roblox account without an email or phone?
Sometimes. Roblox's help pages say two things that look like they contradict each other, and it helps to read them together.
Its article on forgotten usernames says: "Without an email, phone number, or purchase history there is no way to recover the account."
Its article on hacked accounts says: "If your account did not have an email address or a credit card/PayPal purchase associated with its creation, we can still explore other options to try and verify ownership." It also warns that providing information "does not guarantee account recovery."
Put together, this is what to expect:
| What your account has | What you can do | How likely |
|---|---|---|
| A verified email | Reset the password yourself on the recovery page | Works if you can open that inbox |
| A verified phone number | Reset by 6-digit code on the Phone tab | Works if you still have the number |
| No email or phone, but you bought Robux or Premium | Contact support with the billing email and receipts | Possible, Roblox reviews it |
| None of the above | Contact support anyway | Roblox says it may not be possible |
The password reset page itself is clear about the last two rows. Roblox's forgot password article says that if you never added an email or phone, "you can't reset your password with this feature," and tells you to contact Customer Support.
First, check whether you're still logged in anywhere
This is the step most people skip. If the account is still open in the Roblox app on a phone or tablet, or in a browser on another computer, you aren't really locked out yet. Do these, in this order, on that device:
- Add an email address. Go to Settings, then Account Info, then Add Email. Open the message Roblox sends and follow the link to verify it. Roblox's email verification article says this is what lets you recover the account if you forget your password.
- Use the normal reset. Once the email is verified, the recovery page works for you like it does for anyone else.
- Or skip the password with Quick Login. On the device you're locked out of, choose Log In with Another Device. A one-time code appears for 5 minutes. On the logged-in device, go to Settings, then Quick Login, and enter it. Roblox's Quick Login article says the devices need to be near each other, it doesn't work on Xbox, and it "may not be available for all players."
If you set up a passkey on a device in the past, you can also log in with it the way you unlock that device, with no password. Roblox's passkey article covers how.
How to contact Roblox support about a lost account
If nothing is logged in, you need a person at Roblox. Their Contact Us page points to the support form at roblox.com/support.
- Open roblox.com/support in a browser.
- Enter the username of the locked account. If you don't remember it exactly, look at old screenshots, friends' friend lists or purchase receipts. Roblox notes some receipts include the username.
- Choose the device you play on and the help category closest to a login or account access problem.
- Describe the problem in detail. Roblox asks you to be "as descriptive as you can." Say that the account has no email or phone attached and that you can't reset the password.
- Include your ownership details from the list in the next section.
- Give a contact email you can actually open, so you see the reply.
All players "must verify ownership of an account before it can be reset or any information changed," in Roblox's words. So the more of the details below you can give, the better your chances.
What information Roblox asks for to prove it's your account
Roblox's hacked-account article names two things that help most:
- The first email address ever added to the account. Even if it was later removed or changed, Roblox says "this original information is still valuable for our verification process."
- The billing email used for the very first payment. If anyone ever bought Robux or Premium on the account, the email on that first receipt matters.
For billing details, Roblox's Contact Us page asks for the payment type, the dates and the amounts. Dig through your inbox, or a parent's, for old receipts from Roblox, Apple, Google Play or PayPal. A receipt that shows the username is especially useful, because it ties a payment to that exact account.
If the account was stolen and items or Robux went missing, Roblox says you "must contact Roblox within 30 days of compromise" to ask about them, and that it is under no obligation to restore them. Get the request in early.
What not to do
Roblox's account safety article says "Roblox employees will never ask you for" your password, browser cookies, 2SV codes or backup codes. Anyone in a game, a Discord server or your DMs who says they can get your account back for a fee or "just needs" your details is trying to take an account, not return one. Don't pay outside "recovery" services, and don't enter your login anywhere but roblox.com or the official app.
If the account was hacked, Roblox also says to run a full virus scan, restart and scan again, and remove browser extensions before you recover it. Otherwise whatever took it can take it again.
Forgot your password but you do have an email or phone?
Then the account isn't in the "no email or phone" situation, and the self-service reset should work.
- With email: select Forgot Password or Username? on the login page, enter the email exactly as it is on the account and press Submit. Roblox's example: if the account has "nameexample@domain.com" without a period, type it without the period. Check spam if nothing arrives.
- With phone: on the same page, choose the Phone tab, pick your country code, enter the number and enter the 6-digit code.
- Several accounts on one email: the reset page lets you pick which one.
If you forgot the username too, the same recovery page lists every username tied to that email or phone.
The setup that stops this happening again
Once you're back in, spend five minutes in Settings. Roblox's own help pages describe each step.
- Add and verify an email you'll keep for years. Settings, Account Info, Add Email. Roblox says an email lets you reset your password, turn on 2-Step Verification and get help from support more easily. Players under 13 can have a parent verify a parental recovery email instead.
- Add a phone number if you're 13 or older. Roblox only offers this in select countries, and one number can only be on one account.
- Turn on 2-Step Verification. Settings, then Security. You need a verified email first. Roblox offers email codes, an authenticator app and security keys, and recommends the authenticator app. We weigh these methods in is two-factor authentication safe.
- Generate backup codes and store them offline. Security tab, then Generate under recovery codes. Roblox shows them once, and each works once.
- Make sure you have two recovery methods. This is the part most guides miss. Roblox says that if 2SV is on and you lose your main method, "you will need two different verification methods" to recover the account, such as a verified email plus a phone number, a passkey or backup codes. With only one, "you may be unable to regain access."
- Use a unique password. Roblox shows a change-password banner when it suspects your password leaked from another site.
And never put someone else's email on your account. Roblox points out they would receive your reset emails and could lock you out.
The same idea applies to every account you own, not just Roblox. Our guide to recovering an email account without a phone number covers the setup for Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and iCloud.
An email you won't lose for your Roblox account
The email on a Roblox account is its lifeline, so pick one you'll still be able to open in five years. An address you made once and forgot the password to is how many people end up here.
Secria Mail's sign-up is a name, the address you want and a password, with no phone number and no card. You save a 12-word recovery phrase at sign-up, so getting back into the email doesn't depend on a phone either. The free plan has 1 GB and 2 email aliases, so you can give Roblox an alias and keep your main address private. Our email without a phone number page explains more, or you can create a free account here.
