The iCloud Mail alternative that seals your mail with your keys
iCloud Mail is not end-to-end encrypted, even with Advanced Data Protection on. Secria Mail seals every message in your mailbox with keys made on your device, adds post-quantum encryption on every plan, and works the same on iPhone, Android and the web. Free, with aliases built in.
- Free plan, no card required
- Apps for iPhone and Android
- Aliases built in

Is iCloud Mail private?
Apple encrypts a lot of iCloud end to end. Mail isn’t on the list.
From Apple’s own security documentation. Every point links to its source.
Not end to end, by design
Apple says “iCloud Mail does not use end-to-end encryption because of the need to interoperate with the global email system.”1
Advanced Data Protection skips it
Turning on Advanced Data Protection adds end-to-end encryption to many iCloud categories. Mail, Contacts and Calendar are left out.2
Apple can decrypt by default
Under standard data protection, Apple keeps the keys in its data centers “so Apple can decrypt your data on your behalf.”1
Not available everywhere
Apple stopped offering Advanced Data Protection to new users in the United Kingdom in 2025.3
What Secria does instead
Private by default, on whatever phone you carry
Sealed with your keys
Keys are made on your device and never reach us unencrypted. Every message in your mailbox is sealed with them, so there is nothing for us to decrypt on anyone’s behalf.
Post-quantum on every plan
ML-KEM-1024 with X25519 protects your mail against computers that don’t exist yet. Nothing to turn on.
Aliases inside your inbox
Create aliases for sign-ups and shops. Mail to them lands in the same encrypted inbox, and you can reply from the alias.
iPhone, Android and web
Native apps for both phones and a web app for any computer. Switch phones without switching email.

Questions about leaving iCloud Mail
Is iCloud Mail end-to-end encrypted?
No. Apple says iCloud Mail does not use end-to-end encryption because it needs to work with the global email system, and that stays true with Advanced Data Protection turned on. Mail is encrypted in transit and on Apple’s servers.
Can Apple read my iCloud email?
Under standard data protection, Apple says the keys are kept in its data centers so it can decrypt your data on your behalf. Because iCloud Mail is never end-to-end encrypted, Apple holds the means to decrypt it.
Can I use iCloud Mail on Android?
Apple points Android and other non-Apple devices to iCloud.com in a web browser. Secria Mail has its own app for Android and iPhone, and works in any browser.
What is the most private alternative to iCloud Mail?
Choose a mailbox where every message is sealed with your keys, with no ads and nothing to switch on. Secria Mail does that on every plan, free included, and adds post-quantum encryption.
Do I need an Apple Account to use Secria?
No. You sign up with a Secria address, free, with no card and no phone number. It works the same on iPhone, Android and the web.
Can I keep my iCloud address while I switch?
Yes. Keep your iCloud address running while you move over and tell people your new one. Your old mail can come with you as MBOX or EML files.
